Why does the motor oil turn black after a period of use?

Why does the motor oil turn black after a period of use? Is it unusable and needs to be replaced? Engine oil is the blood of an engine. Without it, the engine cannot run normally. This shows the importance of engine oil to the car. Then every time you need to change the oil, I don't know if you have found that the oil you change every time is very dark, does it mean that it needs to be changed every time the oil turns black?

In fact, this situation is completely normal. It only turns black after a few hundred kilometers, mainly because the original oil was not cleaned. The oil is not clean anyway. Organic oil will remain on the oil passage wall and in the hydraulic tappet. When new oil is added, the oil will be mixed with the old oil after circulation and the whole will become black. In fact, when the new engine oil is mixed with very little black engine oil, the whole will turn black, just like dropping a few drops of ink into a pot of water, and the whole pot of water will turn black. Although the oil looks dark, its performance is not affected. You cannot judge whether the oil is black or not.

The main role of motor oil

It can play a role in lubricating and reducing wear on the engine, assisting cooling and cooling, sealing and preventing leakage, preventing rust and corrosion, and damping and buffering.

However, changing the oil is also a common car maintenance.

Some riders may be wondering why the oil turned black soon after the oil change. Is the engine oil unqualified or not changed?

In fact, none of them are right. It won't turn black to prove that your motor oil is not working properly. There are two main reasons for the blackening of the oil: one is to clean, and the other is to be oxidized.

Under normal circumstances, the engine oil should be translucent, but some people will encounter the situation that the new engine oil turns white after a period of time, and it is accompanied by foam, which is caused by water in the engine oil. Normal engine oil has very little water content. When the water content in the engine oil reaches a certain level, some additives in the engine oil will fail, which will cause the engine oil to accelerate oxidation and cause the engine oil to appear milky white. Therefore, after use, the oil appears milky white. It is possible that water leaks from the water tank or external moisture is mixed into the lubrication system. At this time, the oil should be released for maintenance of the vehicle. If it is used continuously, an accident will occur.
