- Sensor box
Pad III comes with an optional feature i.e. a hardware device termed as sensor box. This sensor box is a device capable of finding out the faults in a sensor; it can test sensor by fixed frequency testing. It is equipped with some predefined waveform simulation, hand painted signal simulation and DC voltage simulation. This device is used in place of scanner and then the car is tested, this sensor box will simulate as a sensor and release the same waveforms which the sensor used to emit, in this way if the car is working properly than it can be known that the sensor is faulty or not. Hence by checking the whole system or the electrical lines, it will be easy to directly repair the affected location of the system.
- Battery box
X 431 Pad III consist of one very useful option feature i.e. Battery box. This device is capable of testing automotive batteries by using the most advanced conductance battery testing method with its added advantage to test the alternator (generator) and also the car starting system i.e. the starter. This feature makes it the one of the most advanced scanner in India capable of testing battery using the scanner itself.
- Videoscope
This is a very interesting add-on device for X431 Pad III, the purpose of this device is to basically improve the viewing condition of the technician inside the car or the small corners of the car where the human eye cannot reach. There is a screen and a camera with long cable, the long cable can be stretched and can reach the small corners of the car and the live casting can be viewed on the screen. This helps the technician to have a closer look at the component, to check whether the component is functioning properly or not. It adds an extra viewing capability for the technician.
- Oscilloscope
Oscilloscope is also one of the advanced add-on feature available in X431 Pad III, this device is used to check the electronic wave form and the ignition wave form. It is very useful in order to check or detect the fault in the electrical system, electrical component and the wiring parts. The waveforms can be viewed at different pace, fast or slow. It can also record waveforms and can replay it whenever required. It is used to analyse the electrical pulses, which can be compared with the standard electrical pulses and the performance of the component can be judged on the basis of the observation.
- HD module
This module is a type of connector used for connection between the scanner and 24 V vehicles i.e. heavy duty vehicles like trucks and buses can be connected to the scanner using this module. This device basically is 16 pin connecter like the normal connector used for 12 V connector, but that connector is not developed to bare the 24 V heavy vehicles. So, this module is designed in order to connect it with the 24 V heavy vehicles for diagnostic purpose.
